Bands record a new CD

The Senior band along with our B Band are recording a new CD on the 4th/5th November at the Central Methodist Church Brighouse.  Along with the bands we have asked Neil Taylor Director of Music at Sheffield Cathedral to join us in a couple of items.  He was our guest at our Annual Concert in September which proved popular with our audience so it has been decided to record Neil with the band playing Suite Gothique and March from Scipio.
It is hoped that the CDs will be ready for Christmas.

Bands do well at the Area Contest

After promotion in January to the second section the band competed in the area contest at St Georges Hall, Bradford on Saturday 5th March.
After an early draw of number 2 the band took to the stage to perform Eric Ball’s  Resurgam.  We were all pleased with our performance and hoped we would do well in the results.   We were delighted to learn that we had been given 6 place out of 12 competitors, a good result for the first time in a higher section.

Full results
Congratulations to South Yorkshire Police and Barnsley Chronicle Band who have qualified for the finals in September.
