After promotion in
January to the second section the band competed in the area contest at St
Georges Hall, Bradford on Saturday 5th March. After an early draw of
number 2 the band took to the stage to perform Eric Ball’s Resurgam.
We were all pleased with our performance and hoped we would do well in
the results. We were delighted to learn
that we had been given 6 place out of 12 competitors, a good
result for the first time in a higher section. Full results  Congratulations to South
Yorkshire Police and Barnsley Chronicle Band who have qualified for the finals
in September. The B Band also took
to the stage from a number 1 draw to play John Golland’s Prelude, Song and
Dance, they played well and improved on their position from last years 11
out of 12 to 9 out of 12. Full results  Again congratulations to Dinnington and
