HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR READERS
Annual Concert 7th October 2017
Both our bands performed alongside Professor Philip Wilby at the weekend in our Annual Concert.
The concert set off with the senior band playing three items follow then by Professor Wilby with Bach's Fantasia on 'Komm, Heiliger Geist' BWV 651, our B Band then played a selection of items after which the senior band along with organ finished the first half with Suite Gothique.
The second half was set off with the B band before Professor Wilby performed Theodor Dubois: Toccata in G (1886). The penultimate item with the senior band was the Finale from Saint-Saens Organ Symphony after which both bands and organ joined for the grand finale of Sullivan's Lost Chord.
We all feel very privileged to have had Professor Wilby with us on our special evening and we thank him for joining us.
A full report and photos will appear in our next newsletter.
